We recently came across the recording of Gordon Keirle-Smith being interviewed on a radio programme in 1974 in which he talks about his work on the Zandernatis project and how he came to be involved in it. He also defends the “authenticity” of the writings and his “retelling” of them. It’s obvious that the interviewer regards him as something of a “crank”, but he defends himself quite well, all things considered….
We apologise for the very poor quality of this tape recording. Having been stored in a damp cellar for the past forty years, the reel was covered in mildew when we finally retrieved it. Cleaning it was quite a task and the tape itself was extremely fragile.
After restoring the tape as well as we could, we finally decided to try and play it – and recorded the results of that first attempt. It is very fortunate we did, for as it passed through the heads of the tape recorder, the magnetic coating began to disintegrate, making it impossible to try and play it a second time!
To make up for the very poor quality of this recording, a full transcript was included in “Zandernatis Volume One – Pre-Destination”
To give more context to this recording, here is a reprint of an article in the ST revealing more of what was going on at the time and the efforts that were made to keep this story under wraps…
